Bladder cancer diagnosis: could a simple MRI replace painful biopsies?

NCT ID NCT06335667

First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026

Summary

This study is testing whether a special MRI scan (mpMRI) can accurately diagnose muscle-invasive bladder cancer without needing an invasive biopsy (TURBT). Researchers will compare the MRI results to the biopsy results in 30 adults with suspected muscle-invasive bladder cancer. If the MRI proves reliable, it could lead to faster, less painful diagnosis and better quality of life for patients.
