Summary

This study tests whether applying minoxidil (a hair-growth cream) to the breasts for two weeks before surgery can improve blood flow and tissue survival during breast reconstruction. It involves 25 women at high genetic risk for breast cancer who are having both breasts removed and rebuilt. Each woman will have minoxidil on one breast and a placebo on the other, and neither she nor her doctors will know which is which.
