First seen Jun 27, 2026 ยท Last updated Jun 27, 2026
Summary
This study looks at whether reducing the number or dose of medications in people aged 80 and older can improve their health and independence. Researchers will work with primary care providers to safely lower doses of common drugs like those for blood pressure or pain. The goal is to see if this approach reduces hospital visits, nursing home admissions, and death. About 1800 participants will take part, with half starting the medication review early and the other half later for comparison.
