Summary
This study tests whether an 8-week mindfulness program, adapted for African American adults, can improve depressive symptoms and blood pressure control. About 60 participants from Chicago's South Side will learn stress management techniques like deep breathing and meditation. The goal is to see if this community-based approach is acceptable and effective for managing both depression and hypertension.
