Can a smartphone app and simple movements ease chronic pain?
NCT ID NCT07143396
First seen Jun 26, 2026 · Last updated Jun 26, 2026
Summary
This study will test whether using a mind-body mobile app combined with a guided, gentle movement program can help people with chronic pain. One hundred adults aged 19 to 75 with persistent pain for at least 6 months will use the app daily and follow audio-guided movement sessions for 6 weeks. Researchers will measure changes in pain severity, daily functioning, mood, and quality of life through online surveys.

What this could lead to
If it works, this could offer a low-cost, at-home way to reduce pain and improve quality of life for people with chronic pain.
What could go wrong
This is a small, early-stage study with no control group—results will be compared to past data. The app and movement program may not help everyone, and benefits might be modest.
