NCT ID NCT06963112
First seen Oct 31, 2025 · Last updated May 12, 2026 · Updated 24 times
Summary
This study tests whether giving a low dose of midazolam (a sedative) during surgery can lower the risk of confusion (delirium) and anxiety in older adults after their operation. About 612 patients aged 65-85 having non-heart, non-brain surgery will be randomly assigned to receive either midazolam or a placebo. The goal is to see if this simple approach can help elderly patients recover more clearly.
