Summary
This phase 2 trial is testing whether adding the antibiotic metronidazole to standard therapy can reduce harmful bacteria (F. nucleatum) in rectal cancer patients. About 60 adults with locally advanced rectal cancer will receive either standard treatment plus metronidazole or standard treatment alone.
