Antibiotic could boost rectal cancer treatment

Summary

This study is for people with locally advanced rectal cancer. It tests whether adding the antibiotic metronidazole to standard therapy can lower levels of certain bacteria in the tumor. The goal is to see if this makes the standard treatment work better. About 60 adults will take part.
