Summary

This study tested whether spraying a blue dye called methylene blue onto tissues during thyroid surgery helps surgeons better see and protect the nerve that controls voice and the glands that regulate calcium. 136 adults with benign thyroid nodules took part. The goal was to reduce nerve injury and calcium problems after surgery.
