Hawaii trauma center tests cash rewards to fight meth addiction

Summary

This study tests a program that gives rewards (like gift cards) to people in Hawaii who are trying to stop using methamphetamine after a serious injury. 40 adults who were hospitalized and tested positive for meth will visit a clinic up to three times a week for urine tests. Researchers will measure how the program affects their drug use, health, and life goals over 12 weeks.
