First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 13, 2026 · Updated 22 times

Summary

This study looks at whether giving methadone during and after major spine surgery can lower the need for long-term opioid painkillers. About 120 adults having multi-level spine fusion will be randomly assigned to receive methadone or a placebo. The main goal is to see if this approach is feasible and safe, and to gather data for a larger future trial.
