Immune-Boosting cocktail aims to tackle Hard-to-Treat breast cancer
NCT ID NCT05029999
First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026
Summary
This study tests whether adding two immunotherapy drugs (CDX-1140 and CDX-301) to standard chemotherapy (PLD) is safe and helps control metastatic HER2-negative breast cancer. About 30 people with advanced cancer that has not responded to other treatments will take part. The goal is to find the best dose and see how the combination affects the immune system.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
Active substance
Pegylated liposomal doxorubicin (PLD), CDX-1140 (CD40 agonist), and CDX-301 (Flt3 ligand)
What this could lead to
If successful, this combination could offer a new treatment option for people with metastatic HER2-negative breast cancer by boosting the immune system to fight the cancer.
What could go wrong
This is an early-phase trial with only 30 participants, so the benefits are uncertain. The drug combination may cause serious side effects, and it may not work for everyone.
