Can a Two-Drug attack shrink Hard-to-Treat breast cancer?
NCT ID NCT07757230
First seen Aug 11, 2026 · Last updated Aug 12, 2026 · Updated 1 time
Summary
This phase II trial is testing whether combining an experimental antibody called SSGJ-612 with a targeted chemotherapy (an antibody-drug conjugate) can shrink tumors in people with hormone receptor-positive, HER2-low or HER2-ultralow metastatic breast cancer. The study enrolls about 87 participants whose cancer has spread and who have not previously tested positive for HER2. The main goal is to see how many patients experience tumor shrinkage, while also monitoring side effects and how long the benefit lasts.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
- Active substance
- SSGJ-612 (an experimental HER2-targeted antibody) combined with a HER2-targeted antibody-drug conjugate (ADC)
- What this could lead to
- If successful, this combination could offer a new treatment option for people with HR-positive, HER2-low or ultralow metastatic breast cancer, potentially improving tumor shrinkage and delaying progression.
- What could go wrong
- This is a phase II trial with a modest number of participants, so results may not hold up in larger studies. The combination may cause side effects, and not all patients may respond.
