New knee surgery aims to prevent arthritis after meniscus tear
NCT ID NCT06507241
First seen Jun 27, 2026 ยท Last updated Jun 27, 2026
Summary
This study looks at a new surgical method for treating meniscal root tears, which can lead to knee arthritis if not fixed. The surgery stitches the torn meniscus root to a knee ligament without needing special planning before the operation. About 59 people aged 18 to 50 who have had this surgery will be followed for 2 years with MRI and ultrasound to see how well the meniscus heals.
