First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 29, 2026 · Updated 32 times

Summary

This study looked at whether telling people about their genetic risk for melanoma (a serious skin cancer) changes how they protect themselves from the sun. Over 2,000 adults took part and reported their sun habits, like using sunscreen and wearing hats, before and after learning their risk. The goal was to see if personalized genetic information can encourage safer sun behavior.
