First seen Feb 18, 2026 · Last updated Apr 23, 2026 · Updated 8 times
Summary
This study tested whether taking tadalafil (Cialis) or tamsulosin (Flomax) before kidney stone surgery helps doctors place a larger tube into the ureter. A larger tube can make stone removal easier and safer. 220 adults having kidney stone surgery were randomly assigned to receive one of these drugs, both, or a placebo. The goal was to see if the drugs relax the ureter enough to allow a bigger tube.
