Summary
This study looks at why people with cirrhosis (scarring of the liver) often lose muscle and fat, which can make them sicker. Researchers will compare tissue samples from 16 cirrhosis patients getting a liver transplant and 16 healthy people having other abdominal surgery. They want to see if a protein called myostatin is higher in cirrhosis patients and how it affects muscle and fat loss.
