Ear gadget may spot anxiety without needles or surgery
NCT ID NCT03954483
First seen Feb 21, 2026 · Last updated May 24, 2026 · Updated 10 times
Summary
This study tests a new, non-invasive way to measure brain waves linked to anxiety using a device placed in the outer ear canal. Researchers will give healthy volunteers two different drugs that lower these brain waves to see if the ear device can detect the changes. If successful, this could lead to a simple tool for diagnosing anxiety disorders without surgery.
