New breast imaging could make biopsies more accurate

NCT ID NCT06058650

First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 04, 2026 · Updated 29 times

Summary

This study tests whether a special type of breast imaging called molecular breast imaging (MBI) can help doctors take tissue samples (biopsies) from breast abnormalities that are hard to see on standard ultrasound or mammography. About 70 women with a known breast finding will undergo an MBI-guided biopsy. The goal is to see if MBI can improve accuracy and reduce the need for repeat procedures.
