NCT ID NCT07191678

First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 06, 2026 · Updated 22 times

Summary

This study looks at very premature babies to understand how feeding during a blood transfusion affects blood flow to their gut. Using gentle monitoring tools, researchers will measure oxygen levels in the brain and gut. The goal is to find safer ways to feed these babies during transfusions and reduce the risk of a life-threatening bowel condition called necrotizing enterocolitis (NEC). About 270 babies already enrolled in a larger trial will take part.
