Summary
This study aims to create a dynamic early warning system for necrotizing enterocolitis (NEC), a severe gut emergency in premature infants. Researchers will combine genetic information with immune markers from routine blood tests to better predict which babies are at highest risk. The study will involve 1,050 preterm infants born before 32 weeks across multiple hospitals. The goal is to improve early detection and enable personalized prevention strategies.
