NCT ID NCT07126197
First seen Jun 25, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026 · Updated 1 time
Summary
This study tests a surgery called lymphovenous bypass for people with diabetic peripheral neuropathy, a common complication causing pain, numbness, and foot ulcers. The procedure aims to drain excess lymph fluid, which may reduce inflammation and nerve damage. Researchers will measure changes in nerve function, pain, and skin nerve density in 60 participants over time.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
Active substance
lymphovenous bypass surgery
What this could lead to
If it works, this could offer a new surgical option to reduce pain, improve nerve function, and help heal foot ulcers in people with diabetic neuropathy.
What could go wrong
This is a small, early-stage study with no control group, so results may not be conclusive. Surgery carries risks like infection or bleeding, and benefits may not apply to all patients.
