Low-Flow anesthesia may help lungs after Weight-Loss surgery

This study tested whether using a lower amount of fresh gas during anesthesia (low-flow) could reduce lung collapse (atelectasis) after laparoscopic weight-loss surgery. Sixty adults were randomly assigned to receive either low-flow or normal-flow anesthesia. The researchers measured lung health using ultrasound and breathing tests before and after surgery to see if low-flow anesthesia made a difference.
