Back pain puzzle: scientists probe whether body changes are here to stay or come and go
NCT ID NCT06412484
First seen Jun 30, 2026 · Last updated Jul 01, 2026 · Updated 1 time
Summary
This study investigates whether certain physical and brain changes in people with episodic low back pain are always present (trait-like) or only appear during a pain episode (state-like). Researchers will compare results from pain-free days and painful days using sensory tests, brain scans, and blood samples. The goal is to better understand the nature of low back pain, which could eventually lead to more targeted treatments.
