Summary
This study looks at a simple idea: during a liver transplant, the first blood that flows into the new liver may contain harmful substances. By discarding that blood before connecting the liver to the patient's circulation, doctors hope to reduce heart, kidney, and liver problems. The trial will involve 132 adult liver transplant patients and compare this new method to the standard approach.
