Could light therapy ease nerve pain from childhood cancer treatment?
NCT ID NCT07019259
First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026
Summary
This study tests whether a six-week at-home light therapy program is practical and helpful for childhood cancer survivors who have nerve pain or numbness from chemotherapy. Twenty survivors aged 5 and older will use a light therapy device on their symptoms for 15 minutes, three days a week. Researchers will measure how well participants stick with the program and whether symptoms improve.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
Active substance
Anodyne Therapy System (light therapy device)
What this could lead to
If successful, this could offer a simple, at-home way to reduce nerve pain and numbness in childhood cancer survivors.
What could go wrong
This is a small, early feasibility study with only 20 participants, so results may not apply widely. Light therapy may not work for everyone.
