Can a special laser ease stubborn back pain?
NCT ID NCT06593691
First seen Aug 12, 2026 · Last updated Aug 13, 2026 · Updated 1 time
Summary
This study tests whether adding a multiwave locked system laser to standard physical therapy (hot packs, TENS, ultrasound, and exercise) can better relieve chronic low back pain than standard therapy alone. Adults aged 18–65 with back pain lasting at least three months will be split into two groups to compare the approaches. Researchers will measure pain intensity, disability, quality of life, sleep, and satisfaction to see if the laser brings extra benefits.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
- Active substance
- Multiwave locked system laser treatment added to conventional therapy (hot pack, TENS, ultrasound, exercise)
- What this could lead to
- If effective, this laser approach could offer a non-drug option to reduce chronic low back pain and improve daily function and quality of life.
- What could go wrong
- This is an early-stage trial with a small number of participants, so results may not apply broadly. The laser is an add-on, and its benefit over standard care alone is unproven.
