Can a special diet and a step counter slow down early blood cancer?

NCT ID NCT07305662

First seen Jan 07, 2026 · Last updated May 13, 2026 · Updated 15 times

Summary

This small pilot study will test whether a Korean-style Mediterranean diet (KORMED) combined with daily step tracking is practical and beneficial for 20 adults with MGUS or smoldering myeloma, which are early, often pre-cancerous blood conditions. Participants will follow the diet for 12 weeks and wear a device to measure physical activity. Researchers will check for changes in weight, inflammation, blood markers, gut health, and quality of life to see if this lifestyle approach might help delay disease progression.
