Can a Korean-Mediterranean diet slow early myeloma?
NCT ID NCT07305662
First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026
Summary
This pilot study will test whether a 12-week Korean-style Mediterranean diet, combined with daily step tracking, is feasible for people with MGUS or smoldering myeloma. Twenty adults will receive dietary counseling and a wearable device to monitor activity. Researchers will measure changes in diet adherence, body weight, inflammation, and other health markers to see if this lifestyle approach might help manage these conditions.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
Active substance
Korean-style Mediterranean diet and physical activity monitoring
What this could lead to
If successful, this could show that diet and exercise changes may help manage MGUS or smoldering myeloma and possibly delay disease progression.
What could go wrong
This is a very small pilot study with only 20 people and no comparison group, so results may not be generalizable. It tests feasibility, not effectiveness, and may not lead to clear health benefits.
