First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jul 31, 2026 · Updated 4 times

Summary

This study is testing whether giving a steroid injection to the knee that is not being operated on can help reduce pain and improve function for people undergoing total knee replacement. The study will involve 60 adults with knee osteoarthritis who are scheduled for a single knee replacement. Participants will be randomly assigned to receive either the steroid injection or a placebo in their other knee, and neither they nor their doctors will know which they received.
