First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026
Summary
This study tests a new procedure called genicular artery embolization (GAE) against standard steroid injections for people with knee osteoarthritis. The goal is to see if blocking certain arteries with tiny beads can provide better pain relief than steroid shots. The trial involves 264 adults with mild to severe knee pain that hasn't improved with other treatments.
