Knee X-Rays could reveal why some patients fear movement

NCT ID NCT07168590

First seen Jun 25, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026 · Updated 1 time

Summary

This study looks at how the alignment of the knee joint, seen on X-rays, relates to pain, daily function, quality of life, and fear of movement in people with knee osteoarthritis. Researchers will measure alignment and joint space width in 100 adults with knee osteoarthritis and compare these to standard questionnaires. The goal is to find new insights that could help tailor treatments for each patient.

What this could mean

Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.

What this could lead to

If successful, this study could help doctors better understand how knee alignment affects pain and movement, potentially guiding more personalized treatment plans for knee osteoarthritis.

What could go wrong

This is an observational study with only 100 participants, so results may not apply to everyone. It measures associations, not causes, and won't directly test a new treatment.
