New procedure targets knee pain at its source
NCT ID NCT04456569
Summary
This pilot study is testing whether a minimally invasive procedure called geniculate artery embolization, when added to standard care (physical therapy and medications), provides better and longer-lasting pain relief for knee osteoarthritis than standard care alone. Researchers will enroll 20 adults aged 40-70 with mild to moderate knee arthritis who haven't found enough relief from typical treatments. The main goal is to check the safety of the procedure and get an early look at whether it helps control symptoms and might slow the arthritis down.
