New hope for kidney stone sufferers: Longer-Lasting pills may prevent painful episodes
NCT ID NCT06111885
First seen May 08, 2026 · Last updated May 08, 2026
Summary
This study compares two long-acting diuretics (indapamide and chlorthalidone) to a standard short-acting one (hydrochlorothiazide) for preventing calcium kidney stones. About 99 adults who have had at least two kidney stones in the last 10 years will participate. The goal is to see if the longer-acting drugs reduce stone-forming substances in urine more effectively.
