Can a High-Fat diet tame bipolar disorder? new study investigates

NCT ID NCT06221852

Summary

This study is testing if following a ketogenic diet (high-fat, very low-carb) alongside usual treatment can help people recently diagnosed with bipolar disorder or schizoaffective disorder. Researchers will measure if the diet changes how the brain uses energy and if it improves mood and psychotic symptoms over 12 weeks. The goal is to see if this dietary approach can be a helpful part of managing these conditions.
