Brain zap & diet combo tested as new hope for tough depression
NCT ID NCT07376018
Summary
This study aims to see if a low-carb ketogenic diet can make a type of non-invasive brain stimulation more effective for adults with depression that hasn't responded to standard medications. Participants will follow either the ketogenic diet or a standard healthy diet for several weeks while receiving the brain stimulation treatment. Researchers will track changes in depression symptoms, measure ketone levels in the blood, and use brain scans to see if the diet improves how the brain responds to treatment.
