First seen Feb 22, 2026 · Last updated May 16, 2026 · Updated 9 times
Summary
This study looks at whether giving an IV iron medicine (ferric carboxymaltose) to children with iron deficiency anemia in the emergency department can help them recover faster and avoid being admitted to the hospital. About 150 children aged 1 to 18 with moderate anemia will receive the IV treatment, and researchers will track how quickly their blood counts return to normal, whether they need blood transfusions, and if they have to come back to the ER. The goal is to find a more effective and convenient way to treat anemia in kids without needing long hospital stays.
