First seen Jan 05, 2026 · Last updated May 15, 2026 · Updated 24 times

Summary

This study tests whether transplanting insulin-producing cells from deceased donors can help people with brittle type 1 diabetes control blood sugar without insulin shots. Up to 20 adults aged 18-70 will receive the cells through a vein. The main goal is to see if this approach is safe and can keep blood sugar stable while avoiding dangerous low blood sugar episodes.
