First seen May 13, 2026 · Last updated May 16, 2026 · Updated 1 time

Summary

This study looks at two ways of giving the water-removing medicine furosemide to adults hospitalized with acute heart failure and fluid overload. About 436 people will be randomly assigned to receive the medicine either as a slow continuous infusion or as several injections throughout the day. The main goal is to see which method helps patients lose more weight (a sign of fluid loss) after about 3 days.
