Immune cells engineered to hunt brain tumors enter first human test

Summary
This early-phase trial tests whether specially engineered immune cells (IL13Rα2-CAR T cells) can safely target and destroy brain tumor cells that have spread to the lining of the brain and spinal cord. Ten adults with glioblastoma, ependymoma, or medulloblastoma will receive these cells. The main goals are to check for side effects and measure how long participants live.
