Scientists investigate hidden link between immune signal and amino acid control

NCT ID NCT06721910

First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 30, 2026 · Updated 29 times

Summary

This study looked at how interleukin-6 (IL-6), an immune system protein, changes the way glucagon lowers amino acid levels in the blood. Twenty-six healthy adults received either a dummy infusion or a drug that blocks IL-6, then had their hormone and amino acid levels measured. The goal was to understand basic body processes, not to test a treatment.
