First seen Apr 03, 2026 · Last updated May 18, 2026 · Updated 11 times
Summary
This study tests whether placing ice inside the rectum before a prostate biopsy can lower pain, anxiety, stress hormone levels, and complications like bleeding. About 84 men having their first prostate biopsy will be randomly assigned to receive ice or standard care. The goal is to see if this simple, low-cost method improves comfort and reduces hospital visits afterward.
