Hypnotic talk eases biopsy jitters in new study
NCT ID NCT07476547
First seen Jun 26, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026 · Updated 1 time
Summary
This study tested whether a trained nurse using 'hypnotic communication'—a calm, supportive way of talking—could help men feel less anxious and experience less pain during a prostate biopsy. One hundred men were randomly assigned to receive either standard care or standard care plus this special communication. The goal was to see if this simple, drug-free approach improves the patient's experience.

What this could lead to
If it works, this could offer a simple, drug-free way to help patients feel less anxious and more comfortable during prostate biopsies.
What could go wrong
