New breast marker aims to make surgery smoother for patients and surgeons
NCT ID NCT06294574
First seen Jun 26, 2026 ยท Last updated Jun 26, 2026
Summary
This study compares a new breast biopsy marker, HydroMARK Plus, with the standard marker to see if it is easier for surgeons to find and remove during breast cancer surgery. About 150 patients scheduled for surgery with SCOUT localization will take part. The main goal is to measure how often the new marker is successfully retrieved and how satisfied surgeons are with it.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only โ not medical advice or a prediction.
- Active substance
- HydroMARK Plus breast biopsy site marker
- What this could lead to
- If successful, this could make breast cancer surgeries more efficient by helping surgeons find and remove biopsy markers more reliably.
- What could go wrong
- This is a small, early-stage study focused on device retrieval, not on curing or treating cancer. The new marker may not be easier to retrieve, and results may not apply to all patients.
