First seen Jan 10, 2026 · Last updated May 08, 2026 · Updated 17 times

Summary

This study tests whether automated insulin pumps (hybrid closed loop systems) can improve blood sugar control in underserved adults with type 1 diabetes, who often have worse outcomes. About 140 participants will be randomly assigned to use one of three FDA-approved pumps or standard injections and monitoring. The goal is to see if these devices are effective and safe in real-world conditions over 9 months.
