Robot rehab may help spinal injury patients regain balance
NCT ID NCT05887752
First seen Jun 26, 2026 · Last updated Jun 26, 2026
Summary
This study tests whether adding Hunova® robotic rehabilitation to standard therapy improves trunk control in people with spinal cord injuries. 78 participants will receive either standard rehab alone or standard rehab plus Hunova® sessions. The goal is to see if the robotic device helps patients better control their trunk while sitting and respond to balance challenges.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
Active substance
Hunova® robotic rehabilitation device
What this could lead to
If it works, this could provide a more effective rehab approach to help people with spinal cord injuries regain trunk control and improve daily activities.
What could go wrong
This is an early-stage study with only 78 participants, so results may not apply to everyone. The device is an add-on to standard rehab, and its added benefit is still uncertain.
