Robot surgeons put to the test in major cancer operation study

NCT ID NCT05696444

Summary

This study is testing the safety and performance of Medtronic's new Hugo robotic surgery system for urologic procedures, primarily for cancers of the bladder, prostate, and kidney. It will enroll 144 adult patients needing specific cancer surgeries to see if the robot can complete operations without needing to switch to traditional methods. Researchers will track surgical success, complication rates, recovery times, and long-term cancer outcomes for up to five years.
