First seen Jun 24, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026 · Updated 1 time
Summary
This study tests a new drug called HRS-2129 for managing pain after abdominal surgery. About 360 adults having abdominal surgery will receive either HRS-2129, a placebo, or the standard painkiller tramadol. The goal is to see if HRS-2129 works better or has fewer side effects than current options.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
Active substance
HRS-2129 tablets
What this could lead to
If successful, this could provide a new option for managing pain after abdominal surgery, potentially with fewer side effects than current treatments.
What could go wrong
This is an early-to-mid-stage trial with only 360 participants. The drug may not prove more effective or safer than existing painkillers, and side effects are still being studied.
