New hope for bladder cancer: targeted drug combo aims to boost survival
NCT ID NCT07608224
First seen Jun 24, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026 · Updated 2 times
Summary
This study tests whether a combination of disitamab vedotin (a targeted drug) and toripalimab (an immunotherapy) works better than standard chemotherapy plus immunotherapy for people with HER2-positive muscle-invasive bladder cancer. About 240 participants will receive treatment before and after bladder removal surgery. The main goal is to see if the new combo improves how long patients live without their cancer returning or spreading.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
Active substance
disitamab vedotin (RC48) plus toripalimab
What this could lead to
If successful, this could offer a more targeted, less toxic treatment option for HER2-positive bladder cancer, potentially improving survival and reducing recurrence.
What could go wrong
This is an early-phase (2/3) trial with only 240 participants, so results may not apply to all patients. The drug combo may cause side effects or not outperform standard chemo.
