NCT ID NCT07213479

First seen Jun 24, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026 · Updated 1 time

Summary

This study tests whether doing wall squats at home, along with lifestyle advice, is a practical and acceptable way for people with high blood pressure to manage their condition. Seventy adults with hypertension will do supervised wall squat exercises three times a week for 12 weeks, then continue on their own for another 12 weeks. Researchers will track blood pressure and interview participants to see if the program works and is easy to stick with.

What this could mean

Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.

Active substance

isometric exercise and lifestyle change advice

What this could lead to

If successful, this could provide a simple, home-based exercise strategy to help people manage high blood pressure without medication changes.

What could go wrong

This is a small feasibility study (70 people) with no control group, so it cannot prove the exercise actually lowers blood pressure. Results may not apply to everyone with hypertension.
