Flat or elevated? major trial tests simple head position to boost stroke recovery

NCT ID NCT07367633

First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026

Summary

This study looks at whether lying flat (0 degrees) or with the head raised (30 degrees or more) after a stroke clot removal procedure helps people recover better. About 2240 adults who had a stroke from a large blood vessel blockage will be randomly assigned to one of the two head positions. The goal is to see if a simple change in bed position can reduce disability and improve outcomes.
