First seen May 17, 2026 · Last updated May 21, 2026 · Updated 1 time

Summary

This early-stage trial tests whether a dietary supplement called HMB is safe and can slow the progression of ALS. About 100 adults with ALS will take HMB and be monitored for changes in function and blood markers. The goal is to see if HMB can lower certain proteins linked to nerve damage and help maintain daily abilities.
